The collective recently had the pleasure of working with the lovely Jess and Dave on making their vision of a dream wedding a reality. Having only recently moved to Lennox from Melbourne in February 2019 they were not very familiar with the area and only had about six months to plan and organise what they wanted for their dream July wedding and thanks to the Lennox Wedding collective this proved easier than they could have imagined.
The Lennox Surf Club proved the perfect venue for Jess and Dave as it was somewhere that they loved to hang out at already. The location was perfect offering stunning views of the beach and further on, Lennox Point, the versatility and freedom that the Surf Club offered in terms of decoration and set up made it an easy choice to make also.
On booking their venue everything else fell easily into place as Jess discovered the Lennox Wedding Collective (of which Lennox Surf Club is a member) and was able to find the perfect match of services to bring to life her vision of a fun, relaxed, informal day. A day that was focused on a celebration of love and togetherness, eating good food, sipping good drinks and dancing the night away in the company of family and friends.
The Lennox Wedding Collective helped Jess and Dave find their celebrant (Married by Kath), photographer (April Werz Photography), hair and makeup artists (Kaye Adam Creative Hair and Makeup, assisted by Kellie Bates Hair and Makeup), cake-maker (Eat Sweet Handmade Cakes).and wedding planner Kiera Ryan (Creative Weddings Byron Bay) who co-ordinated everything in the month leading up to the wedding and on the day itself.
Lennox Head proved the perfect backdrop for the wedding as it gave Jess and Dave the opportunity to show off their new home town the 90 guests attending, who were mostly traveling from interstate, allowing them to take in the sights, sounds, flavours and vibe of Lennox Head and the surrounding area. The laidback vibe of Lennox allowed for a real chilled out pre-wedding vibe on the big day, with Jess spending the day hanging out with her bridesmaids, doing yoga, and getting coffee and Dave enjoying a pre-wedding Surf at the pass with the grooms party.
The wedding started off with Jess arriving in a white and cream classic Kombi van supplied by Forever Kombi, dripping with floral decor that matched the beautiful natural bouquet arrangements put together by the talented Florists at PIKT, featuring a gorgeous mix of creamy whites, light muted pinks pinks delicate purples and dark turquoise greens that accentuated the day and adorned the stylish and elegant head dress worn so effortlessly by Jess.
The bridal parties hair and make-up matched the mood perfectly with Jess styled naturally by Kaye Adam Creative Hair and Make up, with relaxed loose waves and soft and sun kissed skin. The gorgeous form fitting strapless bridal gown from “Grace Loves Lace” was the perfect choice to match the style of the day. Not to be outdone Dave made a very stylish entrance in a fitted navy blue suit from “Connor” which complemented the day perfectly. Fashion wise these 2 really were “couple goals”!
On the day the weather did what weather does and didn’t want to play ball, and the ceremony the and cocktail hour which was planned to take place outside Lennox Surf Club had to be re-assessed due to the gale-force easterly blowing straight onshore on the day. This could have caused stress, and endless headaches but thanks to the experience and flexibility of our Lennox Wedding Collective partner “Creative Wedding Byron Bay” and their planner Keira, it was a breeze, plans were changed and the wedding was held inside and whilst it wasn’t the sunny outdoor ‘garden party’ that they had envisioned, Jess and Dave admitted that it actually turned out to be the perfect scenario. It was warm and cosy inside, all the guests were comfortable and the ceremony itself was perfectly officiated by our amazing Lennox Collective Celebrant, “Married by Kath”. The whole experience was very intimate with the moody sky and sea backdrop serving to top things off perfectly, creating the perfect background for our talented Collective member “April Wertz photography” to get some great natural shots that really reflected the mood of the day!
The party went off as hoped and everyone had a great time dancing late into the night with DJ and lighting supplied by “Byron Audio” Food and drink by “Eat Drink” and a photo-booth supplied by “Bang Bang Balloons” for Jess, Dave and their guests to capture some fun memories for years to come.
